Tender Lovin’ Self-Care Rituals

"They say to stop and smell the roses, I say to stop and treat yourself"
It is a personal goal of mine to find that happy and healthy balance in life. But let’s be serious, it is a goal that is easier said than done, especially when you are facing day-to-day stressors that test your long-term and short-term will power. I believe the best way to maintain that happy balance in life is to practice self-care rituals on a regular basis that allow you to unwind and reset your mind and body.
Check out 3 of my favourite re-balancing, tender lovin' self-care rituals:
1. Mustard Lavender Bath
One step above the typical bubble bath, the mustard lavender bath helps to soothe you from outside to inside. The scent from the dried lavender leaves promotes a calming environment and will help to relax your mind. The mustard powder will relieve sore and tired muscles also acting as a general detoxifier. This hot bath ritual is the ultimate healing experience for mind, body, and soul.
For some extra self-care, enjoy a glass of red wine or Kombucha while reading your favourite book.
Mustard Lavender Bath Ingredients:
1 cup mustard powder
1-cup coconut milk powder
1 cup dried lavender leaves
1 cup Epsom salts
3 Teaspoons Eucalyptus Essential Oil
2. Brightening Smoothie Mask
This self-care ritual allows you to sit in the comfort of your home sipping a tasty treat while also applying it as a nutrient rich facemask. The papaya and honey are standout ingredients that provide your face with a brightening exfoliation action, while the banana offers moisture and anti-aging care. The aloe water not only soothes but also replenishes hydration and protects against environmental aggressors. Self-care has never been so delicious!
For some extra self-care, this smoothie mask also works as an exfoliating foot treatment.
Brightening Smoothie Mask Ingredients:
2 tbs honey
1 tbs aloe water
3. Smudging Meditation
Taking meditation to the next level, smudging sage prior to meditation will help to clear negativity from your space and purify your mind. This will allow positivity to flood into the space preparing you for a better mind-body connection during meditation. The mediation session will bring you back to a grounded mindset and assist at alleviating tension.
