Benefits Of A Hot Cup Of Water

A cup of hot water a day…
We all heard about the importance of keeping hydrated and drinking water. But did anyone ever precise the benefits of drinking hot water as opposed to a tall cold glass of it? We have the tendency of twisting the knob towards “cold” more commonly than the other way, and you get more satisfaction in feeling refreshed than burning your tongue. However, drinking hot water can actually be more beneficial for your health, skin, and well-being. No, you don’t have to chug scorching hot liquid, but water between 120°F and 140°F is where you want to be.
One of the main reasons why I drink a lot of hot water, especially after meals, is because it helps with digestion. Hot water can help dissolve food and helps things move along that your body might have a hard time digesting. This is also great to cleanse your body from all the excessive fried food grease you ate on that cheat day. Try it out and see for yourself!
Hot water can do what coffee did for me. Although caffeine has no effect on me, I had a cup of Joe most mornings just to have something warm in my hands and to have that calming sensation every time I took a sip. I later discovered that drinking a hot cup of water (sometimes with a wedge of lemon!) does the trick as well. Hot water calms your nervous system and puts you in a very Zen state throughout the day. It helps your body internally, so if you have arthritis, aches, and pains, you can benefit from drinking hot water.
Think about the calming effects a hot bath does to your body externally. Drinking hot water will do the same on the inside! Give it a try and see the great benefits hot water has. #hotwaterchallenge
