Why It's Important To Shop Local | Margaux Zanetti

I’ve been going to a lot of Toronto-based markets in the past few months, which has really made me appreciate shopping locally.
I have met so many great people who are creating natural products, giving back to charities or just making amazing handmade things.
I think that our city has so much to offer but for some reason, people just aren’t motivated to go out to local markets. I think part of the reason is that people just don’t know about them, but if you hear about one, make a day out of it! Go out for brunch, stop by the market, and then get a coffee (and take a picture before you actually drink it. Obviously…).
"Shopping local is about more than just supporting local makers and artisans. It’s lowering your carbon footprint by reducing the transportation of goods, fuelling your local economy, and empowering young entrepreneurs who are trying to make a positive impact within our world."
