Natural beauty coconut DIY

If you are looking for natural alternatives to your beauty products, then coconut oil is going to be your new favourite.

It has been my go to multitasker in my daily routine because it’s so versatile and beneficial for your skin, health, and body. Make sure you are picking up an organic virgin coconut oil for best results. Personally, I love using Nutiva Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. There is probably more than a hundred ways to use this product, but below are three DIY ways you can use this natural oil.

1. Teeth Whitener

Teeth Whitener, AKA oil pulling, has amazing health benefits such as detoxication, help digestive issues, improve dental hygiene and more:

• Kills bad breath
• Strengthens gums and jaw
• Soothes throat dryness
• Prevents cavities
• Heals cracked lips
• Boosts Immune System

How to: Take 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil and swish it around in your mouth for 20 minutes once a day. This will help pull the bacteria and toxins and slowly whiten your teeth if you do this consistently on a daily basis.

2. Exfoliator

All you need to do is add white or brown sugar and mix it with coconut oil --- simple and affordable.

How to: Add 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or 1/2 cup if you want it to be more texturized) and 1/2 cup of coconut oil and mix the two together. Make sure the coconut oil is not heated, or it may dissolve some of the sugar. If you like a little scent, it's optional to add 1 tablespoon natural oils or citrus such as lemon.

3.  Moisturizer

Coconut oil also a great moisturizer for any part of your body; face, hair, legs, you name it. It easily absorbs into your skin, so I love using it right after I get out the shower. The oil helps to cleanse, tone, condition, fight acne...just to name a few. The best part is that it naturally smells great by itself. Loco for some coco anyone?
