5 Summer Date Ideas That Don't Cost An Arm
Posted: Aug 31 2017
Dates shouldn't cost you an arm and leg.
Forget dinner and a movie - with just a few weeks left of summer, here are 5 fun (& cheap!) summer date ideas.
1. Get cultured
Summer nights mean summer hours for most museums and galleries in the city! Give your own interpretation on a piece of art and become cultured AF. If you go later on in the evening, you’re more likely to get in for free or with a major discount.
2. Patio drinks
Being from Toronto, summer only lasts for TWO months, so I have to take advantage of it! That patio that you’ve been oogling over all winter long? Check it out & have a drink or two (or three, let’s be honest). There are so many amazing patios in the city, so why not plan a patio hop?
3. Be a tourist in your city
Explore all the neighbourhoods in your city! Chinatown, Little Italy, Downtown, Hipster Street W… It’s so fun to discover new places with your partner - be adventurers in your home!
4. Watch a movie under the stars
I know I said “forget dinner and a movie” in the first line, but who could resist a classic movie, a blanket, a sky full of stars with your partner all in one date? Can it get any more romantic than that? I think not. There are so many neighbourhoods in Toronto offering free outdoor movie nights - take advantage of it and snuggle up close with your partner.
5. Pack a picnic
Pinching pennies and looking to stop spending money on eating out? Pack a lunch (ideally in a classic woven picnic basket because the grams will be on point 😉) and bring it to your local park! Pack a blanket, a book, maybe some sort of instrument and enjoy the company of your partner.
Do you have any secret summer date ideas that you’ve been holding out on? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
